Why should this medicine not be prescribed?

Tussionex contains a moderate drug which can cause dependence and tolerance when the drug is used within several weeks. However, it is improbable, that dependence will develop, when Tussionex is used for short-term treatment of cough.
Similarly to all drugs, Tussionex can make the slowed down or irregular breath. If you have illness easy or the breathing disorder, use this prescription cautiously.
Use Tussionex with care if to you knew a condition of an eye as a narrow – angular glaucoma, an asthma, increased iron of a prostate, uric difficulties, the intestinal disorder, a liver or renal illness, underactive a thyroid gland, or Addison’s disease (the disorder of adrenal glands) or if you recently have received the main damage.

Usual dose – 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) each 12 hours. Do not take more than 2 teaspoonfuls in 24 hours.
CHILDREN IN THE AGE OF 6 – 12
Usual dose – half teaspoonful each 12 hours. Do not take more than 1 teaspoonful in 24 hours.
Tussionex is not recommended for children less than 6 years.
